On Friday, February 15th, Oregon Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley introduced the Oregon Treasures Act of 2013 in the U.S. Senate; legislation that would greatly improve public lands protection throughout the state of Oregon.
The Oregon Treasures bill includes enhanced protection of the John Day, Chetco, Molalla, and Rogue Rivers – all conservation campaigns The Conservation Alliance has supported, through grants to Oregon Natural Desert Association, Earthworks, Oregon Wild, and Klamath Siskiyou Wildlands Center, respectively.
