In August, nearly two hundred Conservation Alliance member company representatives and friends gathered in Portland's Wallace Park for the Portland Backyard Collective, an event that brought together member company employees and local grantees for a day of environmental action.
We welcomed friends from Columbia Sportswear, Yakima, Icebreaker, Merrell, KEEN, REI, Nau, Horny Toad and BrandLive to split into volunteer teams, which then spread out to remove invasive species and improve trails in Forest Park and tackle a variety of projects in Sellwood Park, Baltimore Woods and Johnson Creek.
With beautiful sunshine and abundant energy, our volunteers got busy around the city with project leadership from Forest Park Conservancy, SOLVE, Johnson Creek Watershed Council and Portland Parks & Recreation.
During the event, we were lucky enough to have Grant Gosch on site to capture the day on film. We are excited to announce the release of The Backyard Collective, Adventures in Your Own Backyard.
Take a few minutes and learn more about the work of our grantees, our volunteers and our members.
