We’re Turning 30!

In 1989, four outdoor brands – Patagonia, The North Face, REI, and Kelty – came together to create The Conservation Alliance as a means for companies to work together to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their recreation and habitat values. Since then, we have contributed more than $21 million to the most effective conservation groups in North America. With our funding, those organizations have: protected 51 million acres of land and 3,107 river miles; stopped or removed 34 dams; acquired 14 climbing areas; and designated five marine reserves. For three decades, our member companies have contributed dollars and advocacy under the premise that we need to give something back to the landscapes and waters that mean so much to their customers and employees. We have a lot to celebrate!

Mark Your Calendars!

We will mark our 30th Anniversary with a celebration on Wednesday, June 19th, 6-10 PM at Coohills in Denver (during the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market). More details are forthcoming, but there will be room for representatives from all of our member companies.

Speaking of the Trade Show…

We have decided to hold The Conservation Alliance Breakfast at the June and November Outdoor Retailer shows only. Our staff and board will be at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show later this month, but we will not host our usual Day 2 breakfast event. Rest assured we are as committed as ever to hosting inspiring breakfast events at the June and November shows!
