Oregon Desert Land Trust is the only land trust dedicated to protecting wild and working lands in Oregon high desert, a region spanning more than 10 million acres. We have worked with landowners, Tribes, land managers, and other partners to acquire and conserve over 20,000 acres of privately-owned land within millions of acres of surrounding public lands and conservation areas. These private lands, typically located in wetter and more productive settings, have outsized importance in an arid landscape. Managed to sustain healthy habitats, abundant wildlife, and the resource-dependent economies of local communities, these lands are critical to the future of Oregon’s high desert.
