San Juan Mountains Wilderness

To secure Wilderness and other protective designations for 60,000 acres in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains that includes doubling the size of the existing Mount Sneffels Wilderness, safeguarding alpine basins in the Animas River headwaters from future mining, expanding the Lizard Head Wilderness, and designating McKenna Peak as the first desert wilderness area in southwest Colorado.
