The Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers Act would protect 464 river miles and adjoining wilderness in the headwaters of 19 major river systems on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Existing maps have not yet been updated to reflect several data layers that provide a more accurate representation of the location of roads, trails, rivers, and timber harvest units from the time the original proposal map was completed in 2010. American Whitewater and its partners will undertake a detailed review and re-map the wilderness proposal to align with current Forest Service data to better inform current legislative efforts.
