TCA will make 6-12 month grants of up to $50,000 that support grassroots organizations working to protect our public lands, local economies and recreation opportunities. Beginning in January of 2025, organizations will be invited to complete our online inquiry form if they would like us to consider a request. TCA will review submissions and invite eligible applicants to submit a detailed proposal. Selected projects will be funded as they are received, given available resources. Due to the urgent nature of these efforts, all funding decisions will be made by TCA staff.
The majority of awards will focus on these categories:
- Defending bedrock conservation laws (e.g., Wilderness Act, Antiquities Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act);
- Defending landscapes, rules and regulations, and management plans that TCA previously supported; or
- Opposing the proposed transfer of federal lands to states or private ownership.
Priority will be given to efforts that (1) Defend TCA Priority Campaigns, (2) Include a parallel process for securing durable protection, (3) Address an urgent threat to public lands, and/or (4) Elevate marginalized voices and leadership.
