For more than 20 years, the American River Conservancy (ARC) has been preserving rivers and land for life. As a community organization in the central Sierra Nevada foothills, ARC works to preserve natural areas and cultural resources and promote recreational opportunities on the lands they preserve. The group focuses on the American and Cosumnes River basins – both of which are located in El Dorado County, California. Combined with other Sierra watersheds, these two rivers feed state and federal water projects that deliver water to over 25 million residents of California.
