Appalachian Voices brings people together to solve the environmental problems having the greatest impacts on the central and southern Appalachian Mountains. The organization’s mission is to empower people to defend the region’s rich natural and cultural heritage by providing them with tools and strategies for successful grassroots campaigns. Appalachian Voices has been a leader in the effort to end mountaintop removal coal mining in the southeastern US.
