Northeast Wilderness Trust’s mission is to conserve forever-wild landscapes for nature and people. Founded in 2002, the Wilderness Trust fills a critical niche in the regional conservation community—protecting wild places. Today, it remains the only regional land trust focused exclusively on rewilding and protecting wilderness areas—refugia rest stops which benefit entire landscapes. The Northeast Wilderness Trust works with many diverse partners including private landowners, researchers, government agencies, and businesses to safeguard preserves across New England and New York.
