Since our founding in 1935, The Wilderness Society has worked to protect the rich natural legacy of our nation’s wild public lands for future generations. Today, we envision a future where people and wild nature flourish together, meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing planet. We are building on our history and experience to pursue two bold priorities: Making public lands a solution to the climate and extinction crises; and transforming conservation policy and practice so all people benefit equitably from public lands.
