The Wyoming Outdoor Council is Wyoming’s oldest independent statewide conservation organization. The Council has worked for more than five decades to protect Wyoming’s iconic western landscapes, its world-renowned wildlife, and its clean air and water. Established in 1967, the mission of the Council is to protect Wyoming’s environment and quality of life now and for future generations. To meet this mission, the Council works closely with state and federal agencies and elected officials, and collaborates with diverse partners including Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribal representatives, hunters and anglers, recreation and tourism interests, historic trails and heritage site supporters, and conservation, education, faith-based, and labor groups.
