Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument is less than 100 miles from Sacramento and the Bay Area and provides recreation opportunities include hiking, mountain biking, paddling down the wild and scenic Cache Creek, hunting and horse-back riding. This region also provides critical habitat for California’s second-largest population of wintering bald eagles, and wild Tule elk.
