TAKE ACTION – OPPOSE THE WILDERNESS & ROADLESS AREA RELEASE ACT!
Visit Trout Unlimited online action center and urge Congress to oppose the Wilderness and Roadless Area Release Act of 2011, a harmful bill which would damage fishing and hunting opportunities by releasing millions of acres of pristine backcountry to road development.
WHY WE CARE
Backcountry habitats on national forests and BLM lands are extremely important to achieving Trout Unlimited’s mission. Across the West, we have found that a significant portion of trout and salmon habitat is found in unroaded, pristine habitat. Read the fact sheet (pdf). This bill would remove the protections for these vital habitats and open them up to road building and development.
