The Conservation Alliance has already had an exciting start to the year. Last month, we released our five year strategic plan, which outlines our organizational goals and how we’re building on decades of experience to achieve them. As the TCA business network continues to grow and expand into new industries. We’re excited to explore innovative ways for businesses to harness their power to ensure the very places that they rely on for their bottomline are safeguarded for years to come.
Now more than ever, safeguarding the landscapes that we’ve invested in over the years relies on the support of our members, donors, and partners. We’re facing potential threats that could roll back years of work and the business voice is incredibly important in protecting the places we love.
We’re offering a multitude of impactful opportunities for businesses to get involved in land and water conservation and we’re so grateful to have you take advantage of as many of those as you can.

There’s still time to join the Spring We Keep It Wild campaign
We Keep it Wild is a week-long campaign during which participating companies will donate 5% of their online revenue to The Conservation Alliance (TCA). The spring 2025 campaign will be April 17-23.
This is an opportunity for your business to amplify your commitment to conservation at this critically important time and get much needed resources into the hands of community leaders and TCA grantees working day in and day out to protect wild places and outdoor spaces. Funds from this campaign will contribute to TCA’s ongoing work across our advocacy portfolio. The campaign is an effective way to communicate your company’s conservation values, introduce your customers to The Conservation Alliance, and raise consumer awareness about the importance of protecting wild places and outdoor spaces.
If you’re interested in having your brand participate in the spring campaign, please complete this form by March 14th!

Success Story: 40 acres Protected in Oregon
This past January, TCA grantee Oregon Desert Land Trust added another 40 acres to its 16,645-acre Trout Creek Ranch effort. This newly protected land will protect critical habitat for a variety of wildlife including pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep and will provide important connectivity to other public lands. This is an exciting win for Oregon Desert Land Trust who works with land owners, land managers, Tribes and other partners to conserve high desert lands in the southeast corner of Oregon. This particular effort was bolstered by numerous partnerships with neighboring landowners, Tribes, land managers, and other organizations.

ICYMI: TCA Priority Campaigns
TCA recently announced our Priority Campaigns! We have chosen these campaigns utilizing a variety of lenses, including where our member base is strong, how much we have previously invested in these campaigns, and the likelihood that our business voice can successfully move the needle and help our on-the-ground partners meet their goals. Many of these priority campaigns may also have a bipartisan opportunity to retain or gain protections.
Priority campaigns and grantees on-the-ground receive additional resources from TCA and member companies in the form of special projects, meetings with decision makers or lobbying trips to DC, funding for in-person events or paid marketing, and more.

TCA Staffing Updates
I am excited to share that TCA recently welcomed two new staff members to our team!
Monica Nordgren is our new Marketing Manager and she joins the team with over 10 years of experience in marketing and communications. She’s got that creative “hybrid” background of copywriting, social and brand strategy, content creation, and speaks internet fluently. Most recently she was the Marketing Manager for SABIS Education System in addition to working on freelance strategy projects for consumer brands.
Katie Johnson joins The Conservation Alliance as our new Campaigns and Engagement Manager with a decade of experience in the conservation and outdoor industries, building community support and raising awareness for the access and protection of natural spaces. Prior to joining TCA, Katie served as the Community Specialist & Content Coordinator for Osprey Packs, where worked to strategically align partnership and community initiatives with the philanthropic pillars of focus of the brand.
