As the year draws to a close, we are taking time to reflect on what we collectively achieved this year. In the face of unprecedented attacks on our public lands and waters, our community came together and used our collective power to fight back and shed light on the immense value that outdoor spaces bring to our communities, our businesses, and to future generations.
This year we endured proposals to sell off public lands, renewed threats against beloved landscapes, and ongoing economic and development pressures. But instead of backing down, TCA member companies have shown how businesses can lead the way.
Throughout the year, TCA members funded community-led projects working to protect natural places across North America. Companies also took action themselves to elevate the business voice for conservation – engaging policymakers across the political spectrum and demonstrating that companies view public land protection as essential to economic health, workforce recruitment, and the future of the outdoor industry.

2025 Impact
Thanks to the work of our grantees, partners, and member companies, TCA supported major conservation advances across the country. Take a look at our 2025 impact by the numbers:
- Our efforts helped protect 855,739 acres of land, strengthening outdoor access and safeguarding natural assets that support tourism, recreation, hunting and fishing industries, and community livelihoods.
- Our public lands defense coalition, Brands for Public Lands, grew to include 162 brands across 30 states joined the movement, representing more than 72,400 employees and over 20.1 billion dollars in revenue.
- As of December, we have awarded $1,150,000 to fund 29 projects, with more support on the way through the Confluence Program and discretionary and defense funds. We are expecting to exceed $1.5 million to fund over 35 projects by the end of the year.
- Equity remained central to this work. Over 40% of our grant dollars supported BIPOC led organizations.
- We launched our inaugural Business Advocacy Network cohort brought which included 14 participants from 13 member companies who spent six months learning, collaborating, and taking action.

TCA Member Companies Meet with Congressional Offices to Discuss Priority Campaigns
Last week, 32 TCA member companies participated in over 15 meetings with Congress members, staff, and committee leaders during our virtual fly-in. Representing the business voice for conservation, member company employees advocated for the protections of public lands and waters, called for adequate resources for agencies to steward our natural resources, and received up-to-the minute policy updates that will impact the future of the outdoors and the outdoor business community.
Our fly-ins help our community build power, deepen relationships with policymakers across the aisle, and ensure that the outdoors are well-represented in our nation’s capitol. It’s a critical time for TCA and our members to amplify our voices and we thank everyone who participated.
