We made a discretionary grant to support Washington Wild’s effort to protect the Skagit River headwaters from proposed mining. The immediate goal of this campaign is to convince the British Columbia government to deny a mining permit for the Skagit headwaters. Following a denied permit, Washington Wild will focus on supporting the BC government to purchase the mining and timber rights to the area, securing permanent protection from future logging or mining proposals.
