PROJECT NAME:
Catamount Community Forest
GRANTEE:
The Trust for Public Land
RESULT:
393 acres protected

The Trust for Public Land used our funding for its Catamount Community Forest Project to permanently protect 393 acres of important forest habitat and non‐motorized trails in Williston, one of Vermont’s fastest growing towns. The property features 20 miles of trails, including 2.5 miles open to wheelchairs in the summer and sit-skiing in the winter. TPL completed the acquisition and conveyed the property to the town of Williston. They have also given a conservation easement for the property to the Vermont Land Trust.
