Last month, I ventured on a camping trip to California’s Inyo National Forest with my family. I love going on outdoor adventures, especially with my kids – it’s so special to see things through their eyes and experience the wonder of nature in new ways.
It’s trips like these that remind me how grateful I am for the work of this community and the conservation movement as a whole. Our efforts to protect landscapes like these make family camping trips, solo excursions, wilderness encounters, thrill-seeking adventures, and so much more possible.
But we’re at risk of losing these cherished places. Amazing forests like the Inyo National Forest across the country are among 45 million acres currently under threat by the proposed Roadless Rule rescission, which was announced last month. And the attack on the Roadless Rule is just one of the several efforts happening in Washington right now to revoke land and water protections. What we’re seeing right now is unprecedented – and we’re doing everything we can to fight back.

USDA Moves to Rescind the Roadless Rule
The U.S. Forest Service has now released their draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which proposes a full repeal of the Roadless Rule. If finalized, rescinding the rule would open 45+ million acres of national forest lands to road construction and reconstruction, logging, mining, and other industrial development, threatening backcountry outdoor recreation opportunities, gateway communities, fish and wildlife habitat, and the outdoor economy. The public comment period is open through September 21, 2026, making this a critical opportunity to voice our opposition to full repeal.
It is our job to make sure the USFS and the Department of Agriculture hears from our communities about the serious implications that rolling back the rule would have. Now is the time for the outdoor community, brands and individuals alike, to speak up.

Congratulations to the 2026 Member Collective Grant Recipients
The Conservation Alliance awarded $712,000 to 22 organizations in our latest Member Collective Grant cycle. TCA’s grant programs fund projects working to establish long-term protection of lands and waters through private land acquisitions/easements, federal-level conservation efforts, and landscape scale restoration efforts.
The Member Collective Grant Program is part of what makes membership with The Conservation Alliance so unique and valuable. It gives each member company the opportunity to direct significant funding to grassroots organizations working on critical projects – whether it’s a local conservation issue or a campaign of national importance. National Public Lands Day, September 26, 2026, is a moment to celebrate the public lands that power our businesses and communities, and day to day lives.
From September 21-26, TCA members are invited to come together around one shared message: Public Lands Are Good. Good for business. Good for recreation. Good for wildlife. Good for clean water. Good for communities. Good for all of us.
This celebration offers an opportunity for TCA brands to highlight your commitment to conservation through fundraising, storytelling, and/or advocacy.
